Emergencies

What to do in an emergency out of hours

From the 1st April 2021, we will be moving some of our out of hours emergency provision to our new partners Vets Now.

To understand why we are making the changes, please watch the video above.

Some things won't change. For example - if you have an Emergency please call our normal number and you will be advised on what to do next (24hrs a day).

We know clients prefer to see their normal vet, at their normal practice so we want to continue to provide this service as much as possible. For this reason, we will be on call for our clients up to the following times:

Monday - Friday (except Bank Holidays)

8:00am to 9:00pm

Saturday - Sunday

8:00am to 5:00pm

Outside these times, to allow our vets and nurses to get a proper night's sleep, our phone systems will divert you to the Vets Now team, who will manage any emergencies overnight.

Vets Now is the equivalent of an accident and emergency service, dedicated to providing pets with access to a vet out of hours. Because they don't work during the day, they'll be up and ready to see your pet at the time you need them.

Vets Now has been providing dedicated out-of-hours emergency pet care across the UK for more than 15 years, and now responds to almost half-a-million pet emergencies every year.

Vets Now offer a video consult with a vet from 8am - 11pm, 7 days a week for only £24 so if you are unsure whether your pet needs to be seen this is a great option.

If you do need to be seen, Vets Now are based at a number of clinics and will be able to direct you to your nearest one automatically. This is likely to be one of the following:

All of us here at Leonard Brothers know that pets are part of the family and our priority is to continue to improve the ways we look after the pets under our care, whatever the time, day or night. That's why we are proud to partner with Vets Now.

Don't forget, their teams don't work during the day, so you don't have to worry about disturbing them at night. So, if you're worried about your pet at any time just ring our normal number, and we will get you the help you need.

We would remind you that for normal routine cases such as vaccinations and non-urgent appointments, continue to call us during normal opening hours.
